Latent variable dose–response modelling of external training load measures and musculoskeletal responses in elite rugby league players

چکیده
Establishing dose–response relationships between training load and fatigue can help the planning of training. The aim was to establish relative importance external measurements relate musculoskeletal response on a group individual player level. Sixteen elite male rugby league players were monitored across three seasons. Two- seven-day exponential weighted averages (EWMA) calculated for total distance, individualised speed thresholds (via 30–15 Intermittent Fitness Test) derived from global positioning systems. sit reach, dorsiflexion lunge, adductor squeeze tests represented response. Partial least squares repeated measures correlation analyses established then investigated their relationship collective through construction latent variables. On level, 2- 3-day EWMA distance had highest (p < 0.0001). However, magnitude (r value = 0.20) 0.06) level trivial small. lack variability in over time suggest practitioners adopting such understand acute responses should do so with caution.

AIM The quantification and longitudinal monitoring of athlete training load (TL) provides a scientific explanation for changes in performance and helps manage injury/illness risk. Therefore, accurate and reliable monitoring tools are essential for the optimization of athletic performance. The aim of the present study was to establish the relationship between measures of internal [heart rate (HR...

The purpose of the present study was to (a) examine player-movement patterns to determine total distance covered during competitive Rugby League match play using global positioning systems (GPSs) and (b) examine pre, during, and postmatch creatine kinase (CK) and endocrine responses to competitive Rugby League match play. Seventeen elite rugby league players were monitored for a single game. Pl...

The current study explored the effects of short haul air travel within the same country on elite Australian rugby league (RL) players (n=12) during two away and two home games of elite competition. Physiological tests of handgrip strength and leg power were assessed along with psychological tests and perceptions of leg soreness and tiredness on the day before the game (Time 1 and Time 2) and on...

BACKGROUND The importance of optimal and/or superior vision for participation in high-level sports remains the subject of considerable clinical research interest. Here, we examine the vision and visual history of elite/near-elite cricketers and rugby-league players. METHODS Stereoacuity (TNO), colour vision, and distance (with/without pinhole) and near visual acuity (VA) were measured in two ...

purpose trainers and physical fitness coaches’ need a useful tool to assess training loads to avoid overtraining. however, perceived scales or questionnaires were required. therefore, the purpose of this study was to assess whether a short 8-item questionnaire of fatigue could be a useful tool for monitoring changes in perceived training load and strain among elite rugby sevens (7s) players dur...
